Class Description: Percy Jackson Writing Class for Kids
🏕️ Lesson 1: Welcome to Camp Half-Blood!
Explore Greek mythology and choose a god or goddess to create a new demigod character. Analyze point of view (POV) and Percy’s distinct funny and conversational “voice.” Enter your cabin and find your character’s voice!
⚡ Lesson 2: You Are Offered a Quest!
Percy’s quest is to find and return the missing lightning bolt to Zeus. What is your quest? This mission will provide the main conflict of your story! We will also study the Camp Half-Blood and Magical Places maps and create our own Percy-inspired world.
🤣 Lesson 3: Ask the Oracle About Humor!
Ask the Oracle a question. Will the prophecy come true in your story? We will also discuss humor and identify hilarious dialogue, characters, and scenes. Demonstrate your sense of humor in your story!
🐍 Lesson 4: Myth Monsters
From the Cyclopes to the Minotaur, mythology is filled with monsters. Students will compare personality traits of different monsters with other well-known story villains. What kind of monster will you create to block your hero from achieving their quest?
