Campers will set out on exciting adventures and try many writing styles in this 4-week class. Includes weekly 1-hour Zoom call, engaging materials hosted on Google Classroom, and personal feedback.
🏕️ Lesson 1: Which Type of Camper Are You?
Share your experiences, from nature hikes and national park visits to not-so-fun bug bites! (Even if you’ve never camped before, it’s ok! We will embark on a crazy campout together!) Write hilarious and beautifully descriptive acrostic poetry.
🥾 Lesson 2: Be a Trailblazer!
Create an indoor/backyard nature trail by researching animals, plants, or places you’ll see along the way. Use a graphic organizer to learn how to write the “perfect” paragraph. Happy trails!
🐟 Lesson 3: Go Fishing for Listicle Ideas!
Be a nature blogger and learn how to write like the pros. Write a humorous, nature-themed “listicle” style article.
✍️ Lesson 4: Explore Persuasive Writing
Identify the elements of persuasive writing. Choose an audience and conservation topic, and write a persuasive letter or essay using evidence to support your point of view.
I have 24 years of writing and editing experience, including four years as a writing instructor. I love helping kids learn new skills while having fun along the way!
