Class Description:
📝 Lesson 1: Phrases and Clauses
Students will explain the function of phrases and clauses in general and their function in specific sentences. Use and identify phrases and clauses in creative writing.
😎 Lesson 2: Types of Sentences
Choose among simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex sentences to signal differing relationships among ideas.
💬 Lesson 3: Verbals: Gerunds, Participles, & Infinitives
Explain the function of verbals (gerunds, participles, infinitives) in general and their function in particular sentences.
🏃♀️ Lesson 4: Passive vs. Active Verbs
Form and use verbs in the active and passive voice. Discuss reasons for using passive voice. Experiment with both forms in creative writing.
